Background on Church:
We are a small church numbering 50 -75 people, ministering in an urban area. We have a lot of baby Christians who are maturing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are not a church of great means but God supplies our needs and has done so over the last five years.
We then met and partnered with Berean Baptist Church, Mansfield, Ohio, who then introduced us to Converge MidAtlantic and Executive Minister Daniel Peterson. The District then proceeded to purchase the building from the world and put it in Christian hands for us. All the while we were being faithful in taking care of the note. It also allowed us to wipe away some additional bills we had occurred. The church began to blossom from the partnering of Berean Baptist Church (Pastor David Pounds and Pastor Bill Heaton) and Converge MidAtlantic and Spirit and Truth Christian Center.
Why we Needed the Loan:
After three years of diligently paying the District was nice enough to now surrender the building back over to Spirit and Truth Christian Center and make it our own. We were able to pay the note but we weren't in any shape to purchase the building or do the rebuilding and restoration that was so needed. So we had to turn to the good people of Cornerstone Fund.
How Cornerstone worked with your Church:
Immediately the team at Cornerstone took the Lead in properly directing to the things I needed to do and furnish for them to make a good analysis of our finances and our financial potential. Vince Moxon started the process and worked with me personally day by day and week by week until we had all the proper paperwork gathered and in the office. He then passed the baton to Eunice Bisquera who led us down the stretch with gathering information for closing, she walked us through step by step; she was there day by day and week by week. They returned calls and they called to keep us on point. It was a Great Experience for us who were going through this process for the first time. We got approved through the hard work of Cornerstone staff and Spirit and Truth Christian Center working together. They gave us a great deal that we could not turn away from, knowing the Lord was involved and present in our dealings.
End Result:
The church now has a worship place to call our own! The restoration of the building has amazed the people and our giving has gone up because of the beautification and restoration of our building. This could have never happened but that the Lord sent Converge Cornerstone Fund!
